BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- After picking up a record amount of rain yesterday, we are now slowly clearing this morning with a return to dry weather this afternoon. In total, this storm brought 0.97" of rain to Bakersfield Monday into Tuesday, and Bakersfield officially tallied a new record amount of rain fall for the day yesterday with a total of .89"! But high pressure is building this afternoon, meaning we'll be enjoying sunshine and a cool Fall breeze today with seasonal highs in the upper 50s for the valley and low 60s in the Kern River Valley and Kern Desert, and low 50s in the south mountains of Tehachapi and Frazier Park. That sets us up with the perfect recipe for widespread dense fog tonight into early Thanksgiving morning tomorrow, and again tomorrow night into Friday morning. Then we're watching for another storm to quickly clip by Kern County, with just a slight 10-20% chance of rain late Friday into early Saturday. As that system clears, dense fog becomes the main focus yet again.
