Art shows and fairs are coming back to celebrate this year’s edition of Miami Art Week — promising the best one to date. This year, Faena Art at 3201 Collins Ave. features newly commissioned site-specific installations throughout the Faena District. Monumental works and exhibitions will set the stage at Faena Beach, Cathedral and Faena Art Project Room. Faena will include a site-specific commission by cross-disciplinary artist Nicholas Galanin. Faena Art will also present the public debut of multidisciplinary artist Lyra Drake in the Faena Hotel Cathedral. Drake’s artistic debut sees her present the artwork Infinite Faith in a Finite World, a piece investigating the agency of human belief using her custom AI consciousness. PRIZM Art Fair is celebrating its eighth edition at 71 NW 14th St. The fair will feature 45 artists and 12 galleries across the African continent, the Caribbean and Americas. This year’s curatorial theme is Noir: Meditations on African Cinema and its Influence on visual art, reviews communal histories through the lens of African/Diasporic filmmakers past and present, seeking a deeper understanding of global African identity through evaluation of its intersections with contemporary visual art. Art Miami at One Herald Plaza at NE 14th Street will feature presentations by Castle Fine Art with Boy George and Johnny Depp, Long-Sharp Gallery with iconic works by Andy Warhol, and Galerie Raphael with limited edition prints by Alex Katz. At CONTEXT Art Miami, Taglialatella’s Russell Young will debut a new collection in collaboration with former Major League Baseball star Derek Jeter and CONTEXT Talks will offer a lineup of engaging conversations with industry leaders such as Donna & Mark Isham, Tiffany Trenda and Paco Barragán. The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) Miami will be held at Ice Palace Studios at 1400 N Miami Ave. NADA’s signature series of conversations and performances unites luminaries from around the world to discuss a wide variety of topics ranging from traditional art discussions to unconventional explorations of the broader arts and culture landscape. Scope Miami at 801 Ocean Dr. in Miami Beach is partnering with Acura enlisting Paris-native and rising multidisciplinary artist Dalkhafine to create a mural as part of Scope’s walls program. Pinta Miami at 3385 Pan American Dr. in Coconut Grove is on its third year and will present more than 45 international galleries representing artists from around the world, where art lovers can explore the different sections of the fair: Main Section, RADAR, and NEXT.
