DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) Police suspect a driver had been drinking and was speeding when he crashed a pickup with his 10-year-old daughter in the back seat Tuesday evening. The crash took place at around 9:45 p.m. on County Road 43 in DeKalb County. The driver, identified as Gabriel Wayne Taylor, 31, of Butler was going north when he drove off the road, and through a yard, hitting a power pole and bushes. He then managed to get back on the road, but then lost control and hit a culvert before coming to a stop according to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department. Police took Taylor into custody and then transported him to a hospital for treatment and to conduct an OWI investigation. The girl's mother arrived at the scene and took her to a hospital for treatment.
