Ambulance driver hospitalized after E. Henrietta Rd. crash

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The driver of an ambulance was hospitalized to be treated for minor injuries after crashing into a car in the area of E. Henrietta Road and Westfall Road Tuesday night, police announced.
According to the Rochester Police Department, just before 8 p.m., a Monroe Ambulance with its lights on was transporting a patient to Strong Memorial Hospital while driving down E. Henrietta Road. When going through the intersection at Westfall Road, the ambulance hit another car, officers announced.

The patient onboard the ambulance was not hurt and was taken to Strong via another ambulance. The only injuries reported due to the crash were of the ambulance driver, who was checked over as a precaution at Strong hospital.
The investigation into what lead up to the crash is ongoing.
