(KRON) -- After one year with the San Francisco Giants, star pitcher Blake Snell left for their biggest rival. Snell agreed to a five-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, according to reports from ESPN, MLB.com and others. Snell is a two-time Cy Young award winner. He now joins the defending World Series champions. Snell signed a two-year deal with the Giants late last offseason that included an opt-out clause after one year. After a monster second half, Snell decided to forgo the remaining year and hit free agency once again. Could Kendrick Lamar’s new album mean a Warriors title? His deal with the Dodgers is for five years and $182 million, according to multiple reports. It is the biggest deal handed out so far in the MLB offseason. Snell's one year with the Giants got off to a shaky start after he missed Spring Training while waiting to sign with a team. However, from July through September, he allowed just 11 earned runs in 14 starts and tossed a no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds. With his value high, Snell became the latest MLB star to cash in with the Dodgers. Los Angeles has brought in stars like Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts in recent offseasons.
