WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- The Downtown Wichita Window Wonderland Contest begins Friday. Twenty local businesses in the downtown core are participating in the friendly contest, which the Downtown Wichita organization hopes will spread some holiday cheer while also encouraging people to shop downtown. “This is a wonderful way to showcase our local businesses while inviting people to experience the holidays in the heart of our city,” says Downtown Wichita Executive Director Heather Schroeder in a news release. “We’re excited to see the creativity and community spirit come to life through these beautiful displays.” Worst times to drive for Thanksgiving Starting Friday through Jan. 1, you can visit downtown shops and vote on your favorite display. You can also vote daily for your favorite display. The top three winners will be announced on Jan. 6. on Downtown Wichita's social media platforms. The winners will receive cash prizes, with first place receiving $500. You can vote daily by scanning the QR code at each business or visiting the contest website.
