OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — There are new details surrounding a man's gunfight with Oklahoma City Police. The violence started just before 1 a.m. on Halloween morning. Authorities pulled over Timothy Foster for a traffic violation, near Southwest 59th and May Avenue. RELATED COVERAGE: Pursuit leads to officer-involved shooting, police say At first, Foster got out of the car and yelled at the officers, but shortly got back in and started to drive away as a woman got out of the car. The woman surrendered to officers with her hands up. The court papers explain, she later told officers that Foster said he didn't want to go back to jail. Dash cam footage shows Foster speeding through a neighborhood, but slowing down just enough for officers to catch up. That's when Foster fired at the police. An officer returned fire as Foster continued driving. He stopped at his house and ran inside where police and Foster continued to exchange gunfire. A two-hour standoff followed before Foster was arrested. LOCAL NEWS: One person dead after crash in SW Oklahoma City "The suspect was hit. He went inside the residence. Ultimately our tactical unit responded to the scene, made entry, and took the suspect into custody," said Msgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department. Foster was taken to the hospital, then to jail. He faces multiple weapon charges and has a previous gun conviction from 2000. No one else was hurt in the shootout. The three officers who fired shots have been placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
