Patients played games, received gifts and enjoyed a special visit from Moana herself.
Keiki were even gifted Moana-themed hospital gowns and matching pants for when they go into surgery or for an MRI.
"It's so amazing that they have these cute little hospital gowns and pants and it takes them out of the hospital feeling. They get to play dress up, they get to play whatever it is, they can pretend that they’re not in the hospital at all," said Kapiolani patient mom Rene Jong.
Disney's CEO, Bob Iger, also paid a special visit to hospital patients to continue maintaining Walt Disney's legacy and commitment to supporting children's hospitals nationwide.
Kapiolani moms expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the experience and highlighted Moana as an inspiration for keiki to "be who they are and not have to worry about what other people think."
"When we walked in I said, ‘Do you see all the magic around you?’ And she’s like, ‘yeah!’ And her face just lit up. As Moana was leaving she had no problem waving ‘bye!’ We sat down and she was excited to see her," said Nanea Aumua, another Kapiolani patient mom.
