(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Tuesday, Nov. 26, Colorado Springs City Council voted six to three on an ordinance to restrict where psilocybin healing centers can operate in Colorado Springs.
The ordinance passed the first reading with two more readings before the ordinance can be passed. The ordinance would ban healing centers within a mile of schools, daycares, and drug and alcohol treatment centers.

The dissenting votes were Nancy Henjum, Yolanda Avila, and David Leinweber. City Council members did try several other motions such as cutting down how large the restricted zones would be but those did not move forward.
The second reading of the ordinance is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 10.
