MINOT, ND (KXNET) — John Klug, Minot's Police Chief, is still under investigation after reports of employee misconduct that surfaced this fall. Klug has been on administrative leave since September due to allegations such as sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment, and inconsistent discipline. Since then, Klug has been under investigation by the Illinois-based Clark Hill Law Firm. The firm was hired by the city to conduct the investigation and the law firm found many of the allegations against Klug are so far proving to be not as severe as originally reported. Two Minot police officers cleared in October shooting KX News spoke with Harold Stewart, the Minot city manager, and he says it is very important for this investigation to be unbiased to all parties involved. "I asked for input if they would prefer we handle this investigation as an internal matter with me and my team, my team and I investigate this and do the interviews or we brought in an outside third party. It was the preference of the majority of the department that they prefer someone external and was neutral to the issue," said Stewart. We will bring you more updates as this investigation continues to develop. To view the full report, you can click here. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox.
