BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Arvin police on Tuesday arrested a man suspected in a deadly shooting that occurred more than two years ago.
Armando Ortiz was arrested Tuesday morning and will be booked into Lerdo Jail on suspicion of murder, according to a release from the Arvin Police Department.
"This arrest is a testament to the dedication and teamwork of our detectives, Kern County DA investigators, and the CDCR Special Services Unit," Chief Alex Ghazalpour said in the release.
Ortiz was arrested in connection with the death of Ariel Alexander Angel Peralez, 29, police said. Peralez was shot May 24, 2022, in the 1200 block of Durham Street and pronounced dead at the scene.
