BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A second person charged in a deadly shooting that took place in 2018 in southwest Bakersfield made his first court appearance.
Tyrell Cheadle, 29, was formally arraigned Tuesday, pleading not guilty to charges including murder and attempted murder in the shooting on Chandler Court that killed Jeremy Charles Littlejohn and wounded four others.
Cheadle was arrested Friday and is due back in court next month. He's being held without bail.
Christopher Nathaniel Kenney, 25, was charged earlier this year in connection with the same shooting -- which is believed to be gang-related -- and has also pleaded not guilty.
After the shooting, Kenney released a rap video on YouTube that begins with a reenactment of the shooting, police said. Kenney’s DNA was found on shell casings at the scene, according to court documents.
Someone told police Kenney, an East Side Crip, bragged about the killing because he “wanted recognition” in the gang, according to the documents.
