The Detroit Lions released their Week 13 Tuesday injury report and it’s starting to sound like the Lions could be without 3 players vs. Bears. The Detroit Lions (10-1) and Chicago Bears (4-7) are preparing for a Thanksgiving Day showdown. The Lions are dealing with injuries to several key players and they held a second walkthrough practice in order to allow the team—as well as some of their superstars—to heal up on a short week.
Let’s take a look at Tuesday’s estimated injury report and get you up to date with what we know. Note that any changes from yesterday’s report will be bolded.
No practice
WR Kalif Raymond (foot)
LT Taylor Decker (knee)
CB Carlton Davis (thumb, knee)
As of Tuesday, it’s not looking good for Raymond, Decker, or Davis’ chances of playing on Thursday.
“You asked me about the three that I talked about yesterday, I don’t feel as good about those (players),” Lions coach Dan Campbell said of Raymond, Decker, and Davis on Tuesday.
Raymond injured his foot on a punt return last game and his injury is considered one that could linger. Currently, the Lions are staying positive, but they’re seeking a second medical evaluation to make sure things aren’t worse than anticipated.
“Could be, but I don’t know that for sure,” Campbell said of Raymond’s injury being potentially season-ending. “The first word we got was positive, we’re just waiting on a second opinion.”
Following the conclusion of the Colts’ game, Decker was initially very optimistic about being able to play this week, but in the ensuing days, Campbell has said otherwise in the media. It certainly sounds like the Lions are planning to play without him against the Bears.
Davis previously said he was feeling good about his chances to play on Thursday, but also noted it would come down to the early week medical checks. Based on Campbell’s comments, it sounds like the Lions aren’t completely happy with what they’re seeing and it looks like he could also miss this game.
Limited practice
RB David Montgomery (shoulder) — Upgraded from no practice
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (knee) — Upgraded from no practice
Montgomery reportedly was cleared to return to action against the Colts but the Lions played it safe and kept him out. Which sounds like it may have been a wise decision.
“I feel pretty good about David (Montgomery), yeah,” Campbell said on Tuesday.
With the Lions squaring off against the Bears, Montgomery’s former team, Campbell noted that he would have a hard time keeping the veteran back from playing in this game.
“Oh heck no, are you kidding me? No, no, no,” Campbell said of the possibility of keeping Montgomery out of this game. “And look, David, last week, he wanted to get back in that game. He was good and I held him back just to be on the safe side and he was not happy.”
St. Brown was also injured against the Colts, but he was able to finish out the game, and it was a bit of a surprise he was held out on Monday. The Lions are still limiting his practice, which means there’s still an outside chance he is held out, but it does feel very precautionary.
“Yeah, I feel pretty good about Saint, actually. Well, I’ll know more today,” Campbell told the media on Tuesday.
St. Brown echoed that sentiment in the locker room, via Detroit News’ Nolan Bianchi:

Full practice
DT DJ Reader (illness) — Upgraded from no practice
CB Terrion Arnold (groin)
Reader appears to have put his illness behind him and a return to a full practice is an encouraging sign that he’ll be ready to go on Thursday.
After being a surprising downgrade on Saturday and missing the game on Sunday, Arnold has not stacked two full practices, which is a good sign. Now, it’s worth keeping in mind that these practices are estimates, so he’s not out of the woods just yet.
Bears' Tuesday injury report
No changes to the Bears report from Monday to Tuesday. They also held walkthroughs on both days. (Note: starters are bolded).
Did not participate
S Elijah Hicks (ankle)
Limited
OL Ryan Bates (concussion)
