ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Now open in Rochester is El Kapitan: Mar & Tierra at 695 Park Avenue. It's open every day but Sundays and Mondays, and offers lunch on Fridays and Saturdays. The business serves up a fusion of Mexican and American cuisine. El Kapitan started as a food truck a year ago, intending to serve more seafood, but grew to include more Mexican-American items. Operator Edan Rita is formerly of Neno's, and took over this space (a former Neno's location as well), with Chef Mark Rosato. Rita thinks it's a good fit for Park Avenue, and features their titular items: the "El Kapitan" burrito, Mar & Terra, and Rita's favorite, the La Bamba; which is Cajun chicken with Tabasco and other Mexican seasonings.
