FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A person is dead and a driver is in critical condition after their pickup truck crashed on Highway 41 early Tuesday morning, the California Highway Patrol said. CHP says around 5:30 am, a 2017 Toyota Tundra was traveling westbound on Highway 180 during heavy rain when the driver lost control, went through a guardrail, and landed on Highway 41 northbound.  Fresno Fire Department The crash caused major injuries to both occupants of the vehicle, officers say. The 47-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital and later died. The driver, who CHP says was driving on a suspended license, received major injuries and is in critical condition at Community Regional Medical Center. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.  Investigators say wet weather likely contributed to the crash.
