Seven accused of having weapons at Uptown second line

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Officers with the New Orleans Police Department have announced the arrest of seven people who were accused of having weapons at an Uptown second line event on Sunday, Nov. 24.
The NOPD reported that 24-year-old Deandre' Smith, 30-year-old Antonio Marcelin, 18-year-old Jaevail Lang, 31-year-old Jared Johnson, 19-year-old Jase Johnson, 20-year-old Roger Ford and 20-year-old Tahj Stores were arrested after officers or citizens allegedly saw them with firearms.

The arrests come after a mass shooting during the Nine Times Second Line on Nov. 17 in the St. Roch neighborhood.
On Nov. 19, the NOPD announced that four guns were taken as part of the investigation of the shootings.
Smith faces charges of carrying a firearm while in a firearm-free zone (school), illegal carrying of a weapon and neglect carrying of a concealed weapon.
Marcelin faces charges of illegal carrying of a weapon, negligent carrying of a concealed weapon, illegal carrying of a weapon while in possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics and violation of a controlled dangerous substance in a school zone.
Lang faces charges of illegal carrying of a firearm, illegal carrying of a firearm while in a firearm-free zone (school) and negligent carrying of a concealed weapon.
