MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An allegedly intoxicated Memphis firefighter crashed into a sheriff's office cruiser Monday night with his two kids, a loaded gun and four empty vodka bottles in his SUV, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office said.
Delandrion Todd, 38, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, child abuse and neglect, open container violation, possession of a handgun while intoxicated and two traffic violations.
Deputies said they were working an accident at Hacks Cross Road and Lowrance Road just outside the city limits at 7:45, when a white Dodge Durango hit the back of the cruiser.
Todd, the driver, was detained and deputies said they smelled alcohol on his breath. He refused a field sobriety test, but deputies say they found four empty bottles of Amsterdam Vodka inside the Durango.
