Gov. Holcomb appoints judges in Allen, Steuben counties

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) -- On Tuesday, Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb made two judicial appointments for positions in northeast Indiana.
Magistrate Jason Custer
According to Gov. Holcomb's Office, Jason C. Custer and Jeremy T. Musser have been appointed to roles in Allen County Superior Court and Steuben County Circuit Court, respectively.
Custer, who currently serves as a magistrate judge in Allen Superior Court, will be sworn in as a judge and succeed Judge David Avery, who is retiring at the end of the year. Custer also previously served in the Allen County Prosecutor's Office.
Musser, head of the Steuben County Prosecutor's Office, was elected to Steuben Circuit Court on Nov. 5 but will be sworn in before January due to the death of Judge Allen Wheat.
The dates when Custer and Musser will be sworn in have yet to be determined.
