ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) -- Virginia State Police (VSP) said one person was flown to the hospital and several others were injured after a car crashed and burst into flames during a police chase in Alexandria.
Around 11:20 p.m. on Nov. 25, state troopers were called to assist Alexandria police officers with a traffic stop on a Hyundai Elantra, reported stolen from Prince George's County, Maryland.
Officials said as state troopers arrived, the Hyundai refused to stop for Alexandria officers and the chase began along Van Dorn Street.
During the pursuit, VSP said the Hyundai rammed into a state trooper's cruiser. The impact caused the trooper to collide with a power pole and wires fell onto the street.

The Hyundai came to a stop and then went up in flames.
VSP troopers and two Fairfax County police officers pulled the suspects from the Hyundai and began providing aid.
