Wagonmasters smoke nearly 300 turkeys for families in need

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The seventh annual Gary R. Sawyer Wichita Wagonmasters Thanksgiving smoke is Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Wichita Wagonmaster Barn in Cowtown. The turkeys will get delivered with sides to 220 selected families in need.
"They're phenomenal cooks, and they're doing it because their heart is right. We're here to feed families that just need a little help during Thanksgiving," Ken Atnip, Wichita Wagonmaster, said.
This year, the group will include families from The Ronald McDonald House, Family Promise of Greater Wichita, Stepstone, Catholic Charities and Patrol West.

The Wagonmasters are partnered with Honre Adversis Foundation, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5, Cargill Protein North America, Jimmies Diner, Arctic Glacier, Waltons, KanPak, Green Clean ICT, Seeders Inc., Freddy`s Frozen Custard and Cowtown.
