DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — WCVB-TV has reported that a hearing will be held today regarding evidence in Karen Read’s murder trial. Her retrial is set to happen on Jan. 27, however the defense and prosecution are hoping to postpone it until April 1. Judge Beverly Cannone has not yet ruled on the decision to delay the trial. Read is accused of killing her police officer boyfriend after a night of heavy drinking. The hearing today is set to focus on the prosecution requesting cell phone records and emails, according to WCVB.  Meanwhile, Read and her attorneys are waiting for the Supreme Court’s to decision to drop additional charges.
