Southern Indiana couple accused of abusing their four children

PAOLI, Ind. (WANE) A southern Indiana couple is facing multiple felony counts for allegedly causing injuries to their children.
A criminal investigation began on November 1 after the Orange County Department of Child Services contacted Indiana State Police about allegations of battery involving four children according to a press release issued Tuesday.
Indiana State Police turned over the investigation findings to the Orange County Prosecutor's Office and an arrest warrant was issued Monday along with a search warrant for items inside the home where the children live. Police arrested Herbert Halbert, 57, and Theresa Halbert, 52, of Paoli. They are both being held in the Orange County Jail without bond.

Domestic Battery Committed in the Presence of a Child Less than 16 Years Old - Level 6 Felony (2 Counts)
Police indicated the investigation is ongoing.
