Downtown roads to close for annual Thanksgiving Day race

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Expect several road closures on the peninsula Thursday morning for the annual Turkey Day Run and Gobble Wobble.
The race begins in Marion Square and participants will travel south on Meeting Street towards White Point Garden. The route continues along South Battery Street through the South of Broad neighborhood to King Street before ending at Marion Square.
Expect closures on Meeting, King, South Battery, Council, and Tradd Streets from 8:45 a.m. until the race concludes at about noon.

“Vehicle access to several businesses and residences will be limited during the race. Officers will be stationed along the route to assist with traffic flow and neighborhood access,” the Charleston Police Department said.
