WestJet to launch new nonstop between Austin and Vancouver in May

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Canadian airline WestJet will launch a new nonstop route between Austin and Vancouver in May.
The seasonal route is set to launch on May 11, 2025, and will operate three times a week.
Flights will leave Austin-Bergstrom International Airport at 8 a.m. and arrive in Vancouver at 10:38 a.m. local time. Return flights leave Vancouver at 6 p.m. and arrive in Austin at 12:17 a.m.
"This service will provide a valuable connection between the Greater Vancouver Area and Southern U.S., offering guests a convenient and affordable way to explore Austin’s thriving music scene and renowned culinary culture, while also providing U.S.-based guests access to one of Canada’s most iconic metropolises," said Daniel Fajardo, WestJet's vice president of network and schedule planning.
Vancouver is currently served nonstop from AUS by rival airline Air Canada. WestJet currently flies from Austin to Calgary.

The new Vancouver nonstop is the 14th new route announced for 2025 from Austin, but the first new international route. Delta Air Lines will begin service to Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Memphis, New Orleans, Panama City, San Francisco and Tampa. Frontier Airlines will begin flights to Chicago, Cincinnati, Orlando and Phoenix, while Southwest Airlines will fly to Milwaukee and Reno.
