AUSTIN (KXAN) — A person is dead after a crash on the 183A Toll Road in Cedar Park Tuesday morning, the Cedar Park Police Department confirmed to KXAN. The Texas Department of Transportation said all lanes on Northbound 183A were closed as of 5 a.m. Tuesday due to a crash near the Park Street overpass. Cedar Park Police said the call went out for the crash around 1:15 a.m., adding the toll road is expected to be shut down until about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday due to the crash. The crash involved a pickup truck and a motorcycle, Cedar Park Police said in a follow-up release. The driver of the pickup truck died, while the motorcycle driver was hospitalized with "significant injuries" but is expected to survive, police said. The Highway Enforcement Unit is investigating the crash. Police said they won't have more details available until they're able to notify next of kin. "As the holiday season approaches, we want to remind everyone of the danger of drinking and driving, and the importance of driving at safe speeds," Cedar Park Police said.
