Greenville officer shot in line of duty on Monday, police say

A Greenville police officer was shot in the line of duty on Monday night, police say.
According to the Greenville Police Department, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. in the 3500 block of Pickett Street.
Information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting is limited, but there was an exchange of gunfire, police said.
Greenville police said a suspect was also shot during the incident.
No details regarding the identity of the shooter have been released at this time.

Both the officer and the suspect are receiving medical attention at North Texas hospitals.
