Governor Cooper Pardons Two Turkeys Ahead of Thanksgiving
Nov 26, 2024
RALEIGH, N.C.– It will be a happy Thanksgiving for two plump turkeys in North Carolina. Biscuit and Tater were pardoned by Governor Roy Cooper on Monday. Officials say both turkeys are 20-weeks old and enjoy country music karaoke, watching football and eating pecans. Thanks to the pardon, the two 50-pound turkeys from Warren Farms will enjoy their retirement at a farm and event business in Spring Hope. The president of Butterball was at the pardoning ceremony. Butterball is donating 300-turkeys to The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina to help feed those in need this Thanksgiving.
