ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – He will not be there to make any fantastic moves on the field, but Jordan Byrd is hoping others will. The former San Diego State and Manzano Monarchs star is hosting a 7-on-7 flag football tournament on Thanksgiving Day. "You know, we're having, actually, a women's flag football team that's going to come out and support us as well, just to give back to New Mexico," said Byrd. "That's one reason why I wanted to have this. You know, show the trainers, show the kids that we're always going to have fun with football, you know. We're going to be competitive as well." The tournament will take place at Del Norte Vista Park with 10U to 12U up first, competing from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Players in the age range of 14U to 17U will compete from 10 a.m. until noon. Those hoping to participate can go the the Athlete Ready app to find the event. There is also a place to register.
