A woman was injured while driving on I-95 after, police said, she was shot by another driver on the road. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units were dispatched to southbound lanes of I-95 at Northwest 103rd Street in Northwest Miami-Dade, Monday. “Shooting at I-95 Northwest 103rd Street,” said a dispatcher over Broadcastify police scanner. Florida Highway Patrol said just before 7 p.m., a woman was shot by another driver from another car. The woman and a child were traveling south on I-95 in the area of Northwest 135th Street, in a black Lexus SUV. The victim suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. 7News captured the woman on a stretcher being pushed into the hospital. An MDFR member was walking in with the child. Francisco Pizano told 7News he saw the woman on the side of the road in distress. “I saw a woman step out of the car crying. She was on the phone and then she grabbed her baby and they sat down in the passenger seat side,” said Pizano The onramp from Northwest 119th Street and all southbound lanes at Northwest 135th Street were closed but have reopened. Traffic is moving steady on all southbound lanes. Investigators were around the SUV as two bullet holes were visible on the passenger side window. A tow truck arrived on the scene and towed the SUV away. Miami-Dade Police are assisting FHP on the investigation. Please check back on WSVN.com and 7News for more details on this developing story.
