GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Cellcom awarded over $12,000 to 15 Brown County nonprofits as part of its annual Green Gifts program, which supports organizations dedicated to environmental sustainability. This year’s contributions are funding initiatives such as monitoring water quality in the Fox River, increasing food access in underserved communities, and expanding environmental education for youth. Appleton Public Library’s temporary location closes, prepares for return to renovated site “When people bring in phones to be recycled, we earn a small amount—maybe a few quarters or dollars—and we pool it all together,” said Brighid Riordan, Cellcom CEO. “Instead of using it in our operating budget, we give it back to the community, supporting local organizations doing the hard work to sustain our natural environment.” Over the past 21 years, the Green Gifts program has generated more than $600,000 for local charities.
