APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – The Appleton Public Library’s temporary location on East College Avenue is closing permanently on Tuesday as the library prepares to return to its original spot on North Oneida Street. The building has been undergoing extensive renovations for the past two and a half years. The updated library will feature expanded spaces designed for children’s activities and improved areas for community members to work and collaborate. Local bars & events embrace Packers Thanksgiving game “We’re grateful the community supported us even while we operated in temporary locations,” said Zephyr Kendzierski, public services assistant supervisor. “It’s been a bit inconvenient for some, especially those who live closer to this side of town, but the vast majority of folks are really excited about the return to downtown.” An official reopening date has not been set, but library officials are hopeful the new facility will open by late January.
