Pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle on SR78

A pedestrian died Sunday after being hit by a vehicle on eastbound state Route 78, the California Highway Patrol said. The fatal crash was reported shortly after 9:20 p.m. on SR-78 east of Centre City Parkway. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said. All eastbound lanes were shut down for the investigation, and traffic was diverted off at Centre City Parkway.
