Springfield pilot killed in New York plane crash, puppy found alive

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- A pilot from Springfield has died after a plane he was flying crashed in New York on Sunday.
According to the Greene County Sheriff's Office, just after 6 p.m., the pilot, who has since been identified as 49-year-old Seuk Kim, was flying a Cessna T210L plane from Maryland to Albany when the plane crashed.
Authorities said the plane crashed in a remote location in the Town of Windham. Kim was traveling with three dogs.

Deputies said that responders found Kim dead at the scene, along with one of the dogs. Another dog was found alive with two broken legs, and the third dog has not been found.
On Monday, responders were on the scene, working to remove Kim from the plane. A rescue organization took the injured dog, a lab puppy mix, to a veterinary hospital for treatment.
