ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Trillium Health is celebrating its 35th anniversary as it gears up for a World AIDS Day fundraiser.
Dec. 5, Trillium will be honoring World AIDS Day while also emphasizing the work done to help end the HIV and AIDS epidemic.
Trillium was founded in 1989, originally as an HIV and AIDS clinic. It's since expanded to serve everyone. December's fundraiser is expected to honor and remember those who have lost their lives to AIDS, while also celebrating the progress made in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

"We make sure there are no barriers, such as ability to pay. It could be - you have housing insecurity. So, we find ways to eliminate that. Or food insecurity. So, that's where the fundraising goes. It feeds our patient care fund. And that allows us to pay for things that our regular insurance wouldn't cover," said Jason Barnecut-Kearns, president and CEO.
