ANTIOCH, Calif. (KRON) -- More than a month has passed since a woman in Antioch was killed by a hit-and-run driver. The victim's sister told KRON4 the driver has not been caught and she is hoping for justice this holiday. Terri Redd's sister, Patricia Redd, was killed near Lone Tree Way at Canada Valley Road in Antioch.Patricia used to live in an encampment behind the Lowe's Shopping Center at the intersection. "She was in the crosswalk crossing the street with her dog in her arms and just ran them both down," said Terri. In a news release following the incident, the Antioch Police Department stated the victim was unconscious when officers and paramedics responded just before 8:30 p.m. Terri spoke with investigators who she said told her speed factored into the crash. "Person never stopped. Person kept going. Didn't even slow down to see if she was OK," said Terri. Terri said her sister died from her injuries 11 days after the collision, making this the first Thanksgiving she will celebrate without her sister. "It's gonna be tough. It's gonna be very tough," said Terri. She just hopes the person behind the wheel that night comes forward, because she feels her sister should still be alive. "She took a lot of people under her wing," said Terri. "She played mother role to a lot of people. She took care of everybody. She'd give the shirt off her back for anybody. She was a great person." Terri said investigators described the car in question as a white sedan.
