Teenager accused of assault with deadly weapon arrested in Moss Beach

(KRON) – A teenager accused of assault with a deadly weapon was arrested, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
The assault occurred early Monday morning in the 100 block of Barranca Lane of Moss Beach. Sheriff’s deputies were alerted to the altercation at 2:15 a.m. and responded soon after.
Deputies learned that a female teenager was at her residence when a “male associate” of hers jumped into an opened window and was “screaming and pleading for help” while running away from someone.

Shortly after, the teenage male suspect jumped inside the window and then began to beat the victim using a blunt object, according to authorities. Deputies said the beating resulted in “facial trauma.”
The victim, 18, is being treated at a local hospital.
The suspect was taken to the San Mateo County Youth Services Center for burglary and assault with a deadly weapon.
