(KRON) -- The Hayward Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying two suspects allegedly involved in the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy in 2023. Authorities released a photo of the suspects Monday as they search for information that would lead to an arrest. On Aug. 1, 2023, police responded at 10:37 p.m. to reports of a gunshots on the 900 block of West Tennyson Road. Responding officers found 15-year-old Erick Portillo and a 37-year-old man who were struck by gunfire. Portillo was pronounced deceased at the scene. The man was transported to an area hospital. According to authorities, the two people seen in the image are suspects “believed to be responsible” for the shooting and killing of Portillo.
