New Mexico representative steps down to focus on health after reelection

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A state representative from Milan has retired from the legislature to focus on his health.
Eliseo "Lee" Alcon, a Democrat was elected to the state house in 2009, where he advocated for New Mexico veterans, the economy, and the environment.

Alcon also served as chair of the Consumer and Public Affairs Committee and the Labor, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee. Earlier this month, Alcon won re-election.
Cibola and McKinley County Commissions will each nominate a replacement and the governor will appoint one to finish out Alcon's term.
