Park City parking issues: Car left in someone’s ‘designated spot’
Nov 25, 2024
The Park City Police Department responded to at least three recent cases involving issues with parking, including one that reportedly involved vehicles from a construction crew and another one that may have involved a separate construction project. The police regularly receive complaints about parking in a variety of neighborhoods. There are also reports sometimes about parking issues related to construction crews. The recent cases were similar to many in the past, but they highlight the consternation that parking can cause in Park City.Parking issues are likely to mount in coming weeks with the ski season underway at Park City Mountain and Deer Valley Resort preparing to open over the weekend. The ski season typically brings more traffic to Park City, and there have long been complaints about skiers and snowboarders leaving vehicles in locations where parking is prohibited or restricted through permitting programs. Some of the recent cases:On Saturday, Nov. 23, at 8:14 a.m., a parking issue was reported on Woodside Avenue involving a car left in what was described as someone else’s “designated parking spot.” The person who contacted the police wanted “to know what can be done to get it moved because they have a crane coming today,” public police logs said. The logs did not provide details about the crane.
On Thursday, Nov. 21, at 7:05 p.m., the police received information about two “large passenger trucks” parked in the area of Norfolk Avenue and 10th Street. There was nobody inside and the police were told the vehicles were interfering with traffic.
On Nov. 21 at 10:34 a.m., the Police Department was called to Thaynes Canyon Drive, apparently in the Three Kings area, where construction crews reportedly left vehicles on either side of a road. It made “it hard for any other vehicle to get down the road,” the police were told. The post Park City parking issues: Car left in someone’s ‘designated spot’ appeared first on Park Record.
