‘Significant’ snow headed for Utah’s mountain areas
Nov 25, 2024
A moisture-rich storm system will bring the potential for significant snow to all of Utah’s mountains late Monday through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Salt lake City. The service advised that those with travel plans ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday that include travel over mountain routes should be prepared for “very difficult travel.” Snow will begin Monday evening over southern Utah and spread across the state by Tuesday morning. Periods of heavy snow will continue through Wednesday before diminishing. Total snow accumulations across Utah’s mountains will range from one to two feet, the service said, with higher amounts up to the three feet in Upper Cottonwoods, the Manti skyline and near Brian Head.
