PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — United States Attorney Zachary Cunha announced a man has been sentenced to approximately six years in prison after almost half a kilogram of fentanyl was found in his possession at his Providence apartment. Stanli S. Arias De La Rosa, 31, was sentenced Monday to 71 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release after he pled guilty on April 30 to a charge of possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl. On March 10, 2023, officials searched Arias’ residents and found narcotics scattered around the apartment. According to the court, about 454.9 grams of fentanyl, 43 grams of cocaine, 14.5 grams of crack cocaine, digital scales, and other objects used for the distribution and preparation of narcotics were seized. During the search, two infants, two mothers, and an adult male were in the apartment. Six months prior to being arrested by the Rhode Island DEA Drug Task Force in March 2023, Arias was arrested in Nebraska after police discovered about 10 kilograms of cocaine inside the vehicle he was driving, and failed to return to the state to face the charges.
