PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The oversized termite that keeps watch over I-95 got into the holiday spirit Monday night.
“Nibbles Woodaway” is now sporting his traditional antlers, lights and blinking red nose.
This year's special guest lighter was 87-year-old Geraldine Perry, who gave the iconic critter its name.

In 1990, she entered a contest to name the larger-than-life insect that has become a Rhode Island pop culture icon.
It was the 32nd year that the 58-foot-long bug has been decked out for the holidays.
