Grab a turkey or ham at these Greater New Orleans Thanksgiving giveaways

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — With Thanksgiving a few days away, groups across the Greater New Orleans area are hosting turkey or ham giveaways for local families on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
According to InspireNOLA, a drive-through giveaway event with Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, Councilman Freddie King, Councilwoman Lesli Harris and Hancock Whitney will provide one free turkey or ham per vehicle at two locations.

Additionally, each vehicle will also receive a perishable food package and limited gas cards.
Those wanting to participate can head to Alice Harte Charter School at 5300 Berkley Drive at 9 a.m. or Mahalia Jackson Theater at 1419 Basin St. at 2 p.m. InspireNOLA officials said the event will run while supplies last.
In the Iberville area, Queendom Aesthetics will be giving away one hundred free turkeys and hams from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 1125 N. Rampart St.

According to a news release, all items will be available on a first-come first-served basis.
In Kenner, Lawyer Don D'Aunoy and Little Zion Baptist Church are teaming up to give away more than 200 turkeys to Kenner residents at 607 Webster St. at 12 p.m.
Organizers said the event will go on until supplies run out.
