PLAINFIELD, Ind. -- Police launched an investigation into three spas based out of Plainfield accused of participating in several illegal activities, including human trafficking and the promotion of prostitution.
Officers with the Plainfield Police Department executed search warrants at Main Street Spa, Li Ly Spa and Luna Spa on Monday as part of a wider investigation to combat alleged prostitution and illegal activity in the area. PPD said the three businesses have allegedly engaged in corrupt business influence, racketeering, promoting prostitution and "possible" human trafficking.
PPD said the investigation was initiated after the department received several complaints from community members alleging that illegal activities were occurring at each business. While conducting the search warrants, officers found several individuals from each business who are currently being assisted with "the support of victim advocates that provide a continuum of care and support for survivors of human sexual trafficking."
"The investigation underscores our unwavering commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals from exploitation and holding those responsible for such crimes accountable," said Plainfield Police Chief Kyle Prewitt. "Our focus is not just on enforcing the law but also ensuring that survivors are supported and treated with the utmost respect and care."
The Brownsburg Police Department, Indiana State Police and the Indiana Department of Revenue also assisted in the investigation and search warrant operation.
Anyone with information related to the investigation is encouraged to contact PPD at 317-754-5276.
