Appleton police release details on Sanders Street homicide

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) - The Appleton Police Department has provided more information about a disturbance involving a weapon on Sanders Street early Sunday morning.
Public Information Officer Meghan Cash reported that officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Sanders Street in the early hours of Sunday. Upon arrival, they found a man inside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds.

Lifesaving measures were performed, but the victim, identified as 74-year-old Daniel Juedes Sr. of Appleton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additional officers pursued a man who fled the scene in a vehicle. The chase led onto State Highway 441 and continued to Interstate 41. After stopping the vehicle, the man attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended.
The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Gregory Juedes of Kaukauna, was taken into custody. He faces charges of:
First-degree intentional homicide
Vehicle operator fleeing/eluding an officer
Resisting/obstructing an officer
Gregory Juedes has not been formally charged in the Wisconsin Circuit Court system at this time, though that is expected to change in the coming days.
