CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A new study reveals the most expensive Christmas movie homes.
The study conducted by Cinch Home Services uses home value data from ZHVI (Zillow Home Value Index), to explore the average home prices in neighborhoods that star in some of the top Christmas movies.
A seed list of the top 100 Christmas movies was sourced from IMDb, and for each movie filmed in the US, the addresses of the homes featured were researched. Each address was matched to a neighborhood and for each, the average home prices were found.

In real life, Nakatomi Plaza is the Fox Plaza, a 34-story skyscraper located in Century City, Los Angeles, California.

In joint third is Scrooged, where Frank Cross’s apartment costs an average of $1.25 million.
Also located in Central Park West, New York, Frank Cross’s apartment is depicted as a luxurious, high-end Manhattan penthouse. The apartment is sleek, with a modern aesthetic, high-end materials, and features, such as marble, glass, and custom furnishings.

A spokesperson from Cinch Home Services says,
“Christmas movies often aim to create a warm, inviting atmosphere, and luxurious homes with grand fireplaces, large windows, and beautifully decorated rooms help set this tone.
“Expensive homes provide a backdrop that enhances the visual appeal of holiday decorations, glowing Christmas trees, and cozy, festive settings.
“Many Christmas movies are designed to create a world that feels magical or extraordinary, and larger, more luxurious homes help to establish that fantasy world.
“In some cases, houses from famous Christmas films, like Home Alone or A Christmas Story, have become tourist attractions.
“Some film locations also may be available for short-term rental, like Airbnb, especially if the house is famous or has become a desirable location.”
