A Chicago man was killed early Sunday when the vehicle in which he was riding struck a utility pole near Highland Park, the Lake County Coroner’s Office said Monday. Cameron Faulkner, 34, died of blunt force injuries after he was ejected from the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, authorities said. The vehicle was headed south in the 2300 block of Skokie Valley Road at about 3:25 a.m. Sunday when it left the road and hit the pole. Faulkner, who was in the backseat, was ejected. He was brought to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Information about other passengers was not immediately available.
