A sinkhole in Oceanside closed both northbound and southbound lanes on Melrose Drive at Cannon Road for 24 hours, Oceanside police said Sunday. Crews are trying to determine what caused the sinkhole and work on the repairs, which is expected to take most of the day Monday. Repairs were ongoing. Crews told NBC 7 they estimate the lane won’t be back open until sometime Monday afternoon. No other details were immediately available.
