Police identify woman hit, killed by car in Accokeek

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Police in Prince George's County have identified the woman who was hit and killed by a car in Accokeek on Friday night.
On Nov. 22 at around 9:50 p.m., officers responded to the area of Indian Head Highway and Farmington Road for a collision involving a pedestrian.
There, they found Loretta Canter-Andrews, 40, of Accokeek, in the roadway suffering from trauma. She died there.

Police said an investigation showed that the driver, who did not stay at the scene, struck Canter-Andrews in the northbound lanes of Indian Head Highway.
As of Monday morning, officers are working to identify the driver involved in the crash.
