ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The 53rd Webster Turkey Trot is coming back for its 53rd year! On the morning of Thanksgiving, organizers are expecting over 4,000 runners to arrive at Webster Park and take part in the 4.4 miler and the 2.5 miler. Maps of the 4.4 Miler (left) and 2.5 Miler (right) The first Turkey Trot began in 1972 for the Webster XC Team, which has evolved into a community-wide event. The Trot has been kept alive by YellowJacket Racing and Fleet Feet and its owner Dave Boutillier. Thanksgiving 2024: Grocery store hours in the Rochester area Proceeds from this year's event will go toward the Hope House, Jim May Scholarship Fund, the Webster 4th Grade Mile, and other services in Monroe County. The event kicks off Thanksgiving at 10 a.m. Registration can be found here. It closes at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Turkey Trot Road Closures Drivers can expect the following roads to be closed starting at 8:30 a.m. Thanksgiving Day: Lake Road and Pellet/Whiting Road (No eastbound access on Lake Rd.) Whiting Road at Shoemaker Road (No northbound access on Whiting Rd.) Holt Road at Shoemaker Road (No northbound access on Holt Rd.) Lake Road at Rt. 250 (No westbound access on Lake Rd.)
